A. Douglas: White House Shooting

Police reported that a man was seen with a weapon at a security checkpoint near the White House, and he was shot in the stomach. Afterwards the White House was placed on a brief lock down.

President Barack Obama was in Maryland playing golf at the time the incident occurred, while Vice President Joe Biden was in the White House. Officials reported the he was taken to a secured area during the incident.

Before the individual was shot Secret Service Officers gave multiple commands telling the man to drop his firearm. But when the man failed to cooperate with the commands, he was shot once by an agent and taken into custody. He was then transported to the hospital with critical injuries.

Based on the investigation there are no connections to this being looked at as a possible terrorist attack.
